Child pornography content is strictly prohibited in India. However, if one sees porn in private, then it is not illegal. Some time ago more than 800 porn websites were blocked.
Internet service providers were instructed to immediately block porn sites. Of these, only those content which had child pornography content were deleted.
These rules for cyber pornography are –
1) Section 66A prohibits sending obscene messages under this Act.
2) Section 66E capturing or transmitting such content is prohibited.
