Dr Girish Sahni inaugurated the Centre for Innovation and Translational ResearchLUCKNOW : Dr Girish Sahni, Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, today visited the city based premier toxicology laboratory, CSIR- Indian Institute of Toxicology Research and inaugurated the Centre for Innovation and Translational Research. He was welcomed by the Director, Profesor Alok Dhawan and a team of senior scientists of the institute.

A modern Computational Biology facility was also dedicated to the nation by the DG-CSIR. Both these centres will leverage the institutes capabilities in taking forward the institution and CSIR’s mandate of linking research to market space to ensure mobilisation and optimisation of the resource base in order to create an enabling infrastructure and high quality science that will be the harbinger of future technologies.In his interaction with the scientists of the institute he emphasised to need to focus all the available resources in order to address the day to day situations / hardships faced in various walks of society.

Team work is the key and it is every scientist’s responsibility to work towards collective success of the team Later addressing the CSIR – IITR family, he recalled the words of Mahatma Gandhi and urged every individual to think of the common citizen of this great nation while taking any decision, will the action being contemplated by an individual benefit the common man on the street. He expressed his belief that future scope is limitless and it is up to each one of us to seize the opportunity and deliver the goods. He later left for CSIR – Central Drug Research Institute after interacting with research scholars and technical staff of the institute.
