The student alleged that the teacher, identified as Thilagavathy, asked her who the ‘strongest among Gods’ is to which she replied Lord Shiva. The teacher then refuted her remark and reportedly said Jesus is the strongest of all Gods.

Student also alleged that the teacher yelled at her for wearing rudraksha and vibhuti (sacred ash) on her forehead. She then informed her parents, who then filed a police complaint.

When the reports of alleged attempts of forced conversion spread, several right-wing outfits staged a protest. Further investigation is underway.

Earlier, a government school teacher in Kanyakumari was suspended after a student accused the tailoring teacher of promoting Christianity inside the classroom.
