Former Maharashtra Ranji cricketer Shekhar Gawli died after falling into a 250 feet deep gorge. It is being told that Shekhar went on trekking with his friends where this accident happened suddenly. Gawli was 45 years old.

Police said on Wednesday that Gawli died after falling into the abyss. Police said that he fell into the abyss, allegedly due to deteriorating balance. An official of Igatpuri police station said, “His body was found at around 10 am on Wednesday.” The body will be handed over to the family members after the post-mortem.

Shekhar was earlier an assistant coach of the Maharashtra cricket team and was currently playing the fitness trainer of the under-23 team. Shekhar was a right-handed batsman and leg-spinner. Shekhar played two first class matches between 1997 and 2002, during which he took three wickets.
