23 districts of Assam flood affected, lakhs population in crisis

23 districts of Assam have been flood-hit. According to the State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), two more people have died due to flood. Assam’s 9.3 lakh population is affected by flood. About 18 people have died here.

Areas in which flood have wreaked havoc are Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Udalguri, Darrang, Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Morigaon, Hojai, Nagaon, Nagalon, Naugawa, Majuli, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, West Karbi Anglong, Kokra , Dhubri, South Salmara, Goalpara and Kamrup districts.

Barpeta is a district, with 1.35 lakh population affected by flood. About one lakh people in Dhemaji and over 96 thousand people in Nalbari are affected by the flood.
