About 11 officials of CRPF, COBRA injured in IED blast carried by Naxals

Jharkhand: The Joint teams combined of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF’s), Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA), Special Jungle Warfare

Unit (SJWL) and state police was carrying out an operation in forests area in Kuchai district at around 5 am early morning during which massive blast took place in which 11 security personals were seriously injured.

At-least, eleven members from CRPF team and state police got injured in IED blast which was carried by Naxals in Jharkhand’s Seraikela Kharsawan district.

The explosion took place early morning when a joint team of CRPF’s, special jungle welfare unit, COBRA and state police was carrying out an operation in forests of Kuchai area in district.

It is suspected by officials that the IED was buried in dirt track.

Soon after blast took place injured officials have been airlifted to state capital Ranchi. Among these injured officials eight are from COBRA and remaining belongs to state police.

According to officials, joint team was being led by 209th battalion of COBRA of the CRPF who are position in state for anti-Naxal operations.
