New Delhi: As we all know that none of us are really big fans of the food served in flights or in planes, but this one is going to be a sure shot exception as a unique restaurant was running National capital region with the name of ‘Runway’ that is being operational under a standing aeroplane.
Can an aeroplane be used to serve multi-cuisine food on a national highway? Does it sound bizarre to you? Well, not anymore.
Located in Delhi’s Metro Walk in Rohini, a restaurant named Runway 1 serves food inside an actual plane and it is just the perfect place for everyone bored of regular cafes and restaurants.
You don’t have to spend money on a flight ticket to get the experience of dining inside an aircraft either. All you need to do is to drive up on to the Ambala-Kurukshetra highway, National Highway-1, and step aboard the Airbus A320. Runway 1 is the name of the restaurant which is opened inside this plane.
Not just that, people are also allowed to sit on the wings and eat food while enjoying the weather outside and looking at the surroundings.
The plane is surrounded by water on all sides, beyond which there are beautiful green lawns. Add to that the pretty lights, and the entire view becomes too good to be true.

The aircraft is 15 years old and can accommodate up to 100 people at a time. It’s the innovation that hits you first as there is no flashy sign.
Boarding pass: You need to collect your boarding pass from the reception on the ground for the meals.
The 15-year-old aircraft model: After that the customers can go into the cabin of a 15-year-old aircraft model.
About Staff: There are approximately 50 staff – dressed in attire resembling ground staff and crew members. The Runway 1 owners pay for all of food and lodging of the restaurant staff.
Another USP that distinguishes it from other eateries is the first virtual 3D flight simulation gaming set up. As a result, kids can enjoy 3D games inside this aircraft.
Around 50 kms from Ludhiana, the Airbus is parked on a vacant one-and-a-half acre plot owned by a Shahbad-based business family.
This innovative eatery, junked by Air India, was opened on November 27. It took the owners, the father-son duo, almost a year to get this grounded aircraft together.
