Lucknow: In a first of its kind, the capital of Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Hindi journalism Day today hosted its 1st Regional journalist conference that was organised by the National Media Club in the state capital based City Montessori School (CMS) auditorium.
The program was kick started with lighting-up of lamp by the honorable Governor of the state, Ram Naik who was the Chief Guest of the event which was followed by singing of National song, not only this the Governor also administered oath of cleanliness drive to all those present in function.
Now at the beginning of the function, a film based on objectives of the National Media Club was shown to all the guests and Chief guests who were present in the auditorium of City Montessori School.
Addressing all the journalists in the auditorium, honorable Governor said, “I am very happy that this is the UP’s 1st Zonal Conference hosted by National Media Club and so many people are present here. I appreciate efforts of the club.” The Governor praised the journalists and said, “Journalism has become the fourth pillar because of its power.”

The Governor during his speech while talking about the country’s first Hindi language newspaper ‘Udant Martand’, said, although it was India’s first newspaper did not survived long but its birth was a big deal. While praising the work of the journalist, he said, “The type of work journalists do is very difficult. The public is analysing your work, so this is the reason that journalism is considered as the fourth pillar of democracy.”
On other hand, the CMS founder Jagdish Gandhi who was present in this regional journalist conference organized on the occasion of Hindi journalism day on Wednesday in the auditorium of school also lauded efforts of all those who were helping in maintaining cleaning drive of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Not only this, Jagdish Gandhi also introduced the history of ‘Journalism Day to all the people present in the auditorium of City Montessori School. Mr Gandhi, while talking about the role of journalists in his address, said that journalists work to make people aware of voting power and not only this they also do work to spread awareness of corruption.
The CMS founder Gandhi also gave appreciation to the National Media Club organiser Ramesh Awasthi for conducting and organising UP 1st Regional Journalist Conference first time in the history of Lucknow.
On this occasion, the Aaj Ki Khabar editor-in-chief, Chandrasen Verma along with many other senior journalists from their respective news organisations today handed over Memorandum to honorable to Governor of the state and discussed problems faced by media persons.
