Bhopal: In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old woman was gang raped by two persons working for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, following which a case was registered and one person arrested, police said on Sunday in Madhya Pradesh’s Sihore.
Ashta police station SHO V.D. Veera told media persons that the young woman worked at a skilling centre run by one Raja Collector, who is one of the two accused of the complainant’s rape.

A case was registered under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and Raja arrested. His accomplice Mukesh Thakur is absconding.
The accused are said to be linked to an influential BJP leader.
Woman gang-raped and killed in tea garden in Assam:
In another shocking incident, a 20-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped and killed in a tea garden, and four persons were arrested in this connection in Assam’s Cachar district, police said today.
The woman was missing since May 1 from Chappanhal Tea Estate in Udharbond town and her body was recovered by the police yesterday night, the police said.
The woman’s father had filed a missing diary with the police along with a complaint against four persons who were subsequently arrested.
The body was sent for post-mortem examination, a police officer said.
