Jaipur: A photo is getting viral on social media platform which was shared by Michelin Chef Vikas Khanna on his Instagram and Twitter accounts in which it is clearly seen that a Bishnoi community woman was seen giving breastfeed to baby deer.

 

 

A photograph depicting a Bishnoi woman breastfeeding a young deer has gone viral on social media, with celebrity chef Vikas Khanna, who posted the picture on social media platforms, applauding the woman with his “highest respects”.

 

 

The Michelin-star chef, who was in Rajasthan to shoot for a television series, said on his Instagram post that the picture was taken in a village in the state where a large number of Bishnoi population resides.

 

 

Khanna also said that the woman had told her that she had breastfed and nursed several orphaned and injured deers in the deserts in the past as well.

“The greatest form of humanity is compassion,” Khanna quoted the unnamed Bishnoi woman as saying. Along with that, he added the hashtags ‘Highest Respect’ and ‘Beloved India’.

 

 

The heartwarming photo, posted by the New York based chef on Thursday, has garnered more than 28,000 likes in less than 24 hours, with many users appreciating the woman for her kindness and compassion towards animals.

One of the users said, “This is a great and best form of humanity”, while another said, “Lots of love & respect.” Yet another user simply responded with a brief but apt ‘Beautiful’ and another said, “Beautiful moments that we rarely witness.. Respect”.

 

 

It needs to be mentioned here that Bishnoi community are regarded as fierce advocates of protecting the environment and wildlife and were responsible for the iconic ‘Chipko’ movement in the 1970 to prevent the felling of trees. In fact, Bishnoi women are known to nurse and look after young fawns to protect them.

In this photo Vikas has told that this woman has saved many deer children from dying. Now in this regards we would like to tell you that women of Bishnoi society not only breastfeed animals but also take care of them like their own child. Not only women, men of this society also keep babies of unclaimed deer in households.

 

 

Bishnoi society is named after Lord Vishnu. People here worship the environment. Most people of this society live near the deserts in Rajasthan state. These people believe in Hindu Guru Jambhashwar Bhagwan.
