Launch Metro only if viable, says Governor Ram Naik 

LUCKNOW: As several states, including Uttar Pradesh, declare Metro rail systems in cities, governor Ram Naik has expressed concern over the trend, saying that a cost-benefit analysis should be mandatory before declaring a Metro project.

Naik was speaking at the -day conference of gover two-day conference of governors in Delhi that concluded on Saturday .

 UP alone has declared as many as four Metro projects for Kanpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Jhansi, after having inaugurated the Lucknow Metro.
Naik advocated a stringent cost-benefit analysis and viability of projects so that investment, whether by the government or private sector, does not sink.
Naik also advocated for central university status for Bhatkhande Music Institute Deemed University .
A Raj Bhawan press release said the governor also demanded that a regularity authority be constituted to regulate private and deemed universities in the state .
