“Yaar, itna badhiya shehar hai Lucknow, who wouldn’t want to come here?” : Farah Khan

Lucknow : Filmmaker Farah Khan, who was in the city recently to promote her show on TV, says she looks forward to coming to Lucknow. “Yaar, itna badhiya shehar hai Lucknow, who wouldn’t want to come here?” she wondered.

The last time Farah had been in Lucknow, a couple of years ago, she had mentioned wanting to shoot a film in the city. When we quizzed her about it, she said, “See UP right now is very film-friendly. Earlier I had planned a movie with two girls that was to be shot in Allahabad. And we had actually wanted to come down and do a recce for it but we didn’t because I started doing another film and that Allahabad film was put on the back burner.

As far as India goes, Lucknow has great heritage, lovely visuals and also there’s a lot of support being provided by the government.

She further says , “As far as my coming here is concerned, if there is a script which is about a place like Lucknow or the story is based in Lucknow, then of course I will definitely come to shoot here. I will become fat within a month if I shoot here, because I’ll eat so much,” shared with a laugh, adding, “Yes, that’s a fact. Yahan jaisa non veg kahin nahi milta. Mumbai wala toh sab curry patta wala hota hai. Everything there has curry patta in it. Authentic Mughlai you get only here in Lucknow. Whenever I come here, my only agenda is to eat. Galawat kebab, nihari, biryani, see, I’ve got it all here right in front of me now too.”

All excited about the show, ‘Lip Sing Battle’, Farah talked about the guests on her show including her first cousin Farhan Akhtar. “His image is of a very serious kind of a guy but I know how crazy he is. When I see him as a serious guy, I find it very odd because he’s totally mad. When we were kids we used to dress him in Zoya’s dresses and make him dance to ‘Yeh Mera Dil’ and Helen aunty ke cabarets.
