Now you must be feeling weird and shocking after reading this! But this is fact, as girls in this Southern India’s temple use to worship by keeping topless just in the name of faith and tradition by the males persists.
Basically, for a period of 15 days, near about 7 or more young girls in Madurai’s this temple have to live without clothes. Now, according to the ancient tradition, girls are decorated as goddesses here.
According to the custom, there use to be no clothes on the upper part of their body. People believe in this tradition from ancient time, although no one uses to misbehave or misconduct with the girls during this period.
Young girls worshiped as goddess by keeping topless in Southern India:
If we go according to customs, about 7 or more girls use to be treated as goddess and worshiped by male persists for about fifteen days. The upper part of the body of these girls is covered with jewelry and hair only.
The priests of this temple take care of these young girls and most interesting as well as shocking thing is that the villagers send their girls to the Madurai temple to make their children goddesses.
More than 60 villages that participate in the ritual worship the girls like goddesses. But this time the administration has shown strictness and ordered the girls to cover their entire body.
Now, it is very much clear that now such kind of traditions will not be carry forward by temple authorities to keep these young girls topless in the name of making female goddesses.
