Yogi Adityanath reviews Gomti Riverfront development works

Lucknow: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath today visited Gomti Riverfront to take review of development works, the project was one of the ambitious projects of Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party government.

The Chief Minister yesterday returned from his home town Gorakhpur to the state capital on late Sunday night and reached the riverfront at around 11 AM today morning. Adityanath was accompanied by several cabinet ministers and officials.

 

 

The Gomti riverfront has been developed on the both side of the river flowing from the centre of the city of Nawabs and near anout Rs 1,500-crore was spent on it.

A parallel wall has been made on both banks of the Gomti river to channel its water flow.

The land between the waterway and the embankment has been developed for public use, like tracks for cycling, jogging and walking, apart from the play area for children.

 

 

Public conveniences like toilets and potable water taps and parking spaces have been provided at every 500 metres.

A lake too has been developed along with the installation of a musical fountain, an area reserved for doing yoga, a ground for weddings, and an amphitheater with a seating capacity of 2,000.

Under the project, the Hardinge Bridge, Gomti barrage, and Lohia Bridge have been illuminated with RGB lights, besides coloured lights at the Gandhi Bridge.
