Two low-intensity blasts in city of Taj Agra

Lucknow: The city of Taj Agra today witnessed two low-intensity blasts after which area has been cordoned off and a team of senior officers have rushed to the incident sites.

 

 

According to police officials, no one has been reported to be injured in the blasts and a team of forensic teams and dog squads have also reached the spot have reached the incident place to investigate the matter.

Prime investigation reports says, both the explosions took place near the busy Agra Cantt Railway Station.

 

 

The first blast took place in a garbage dump when the Municipal Corporation staffers were clearing it as a part of their daily routine; the second blast took place in a house.

Agra police told media persons that when they questioned the driver of a tractor trolley deployed to clear the garbage, he said that there was a loud explosion near the tyres and white smoke billowed from the blast when he was on his duty.

 

 

The cops have also sealed the house behind the railway station where the second blast took place.

It is expected that the explosions come close on the heels of a threat by IS (Islamic State) that it will attack the Taj Mahal, after which security was beefed up at the historical monument yesterday.
