Mumbai: In a strange but shocking sequence of MeToo incidents that is growing nowadays in film industry but it seems like that sports world is not left behind with such cases as recently Indian air hostess put sexual harassment allegation on Sri Lankan cricketer Arjuna Ranatunga.
It seems cricket too is not spared from the popular #MeToo movement as an ex-Air India air hostess recently took to Facebook and in the post mentioned her horrific episode with former Sri Lankan cricketer.
The air hostess goes on to narrate her side of the story where she claims the World Cup-winning captain cricketer Arjuna Ranatunga made sexual advances towards her.
In the viral Facebook post, it’s mentioned, “My star-struck colleague spotted Indian and Sri Lankan cricketers in the elevator of Hotel Juhu Centaur in Mumbai.
She decided to meet them in their room for autographs. I decided to chaperone her, fearing for her safety, we were offered drinks (perhaps laced) I declined and stuck to my bottle of water I’d brought along.
Ex-Air hostess put sexual harassment allegation on Sri Lankan cricketer Arjuna Ranatunga:
They were 7 and we 2; they latched the room door putting the chain secure. My discomfort was growing inside of me; I urged her to get back to our room.
Ranatunga grabs me by waist, sliding his hands along the side of my breasts, I scream fearing the worst, kicking on his legs and feet. Threatening him of dire consequences, passport cancellation, reporting it to the cops etc., for he is a Sri Lankan misbehaving with an Indian.
By wasting no time, I dashed for the hotel reception a good run on an incline screaming on top of my voice. The reception said it is your private matter, and that they can’t help me!
She signed off saying, #5 – #12 some other day. Each story brought me many a raised eyebrows; no one believed my story. Luckily the man I married did and still does and had helped me out of my emotional maelstrom.
In the same Facebook post, she has also opened up about a few other incidents that happened with her.
