91 terrorists killed in Afghanistan

Kabul: Almost 91 terrorists have been killed in cleanup operations across Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, the defence ministry said today.

Afghan National Security and DefenCe Forces carried out the operations in Herat, Ghazni, Paktika and Helmand provinces of the country’s 34 provinces,  a defence ministry statement as saying.

At least 22 terrorist were also injured during the operations, said the statement providing daily operations updates.

The statement also said 11 army personnel were also killed during the same period.

The Afghan security forces has beefed up security operations against militants recently as the Taliban militant group attempts to consolidate its positions ahead of winter in the country.

The Taliban has yet to make comments.
