With rising Covid-19 cases in the national capital, a top private school has asked parents not to send their wards on Monday, after a student was tested positive. In the last couple of days, a number of school students have been tested positive, raising concerns for parents.
“Kindly do not send your wards to school on Monday as fumigation or sanitation exercise will be conducted,” the school said in a statement to parents on Saturday, as reported by PTI.
Earlier, two top private schools had also confirmed postive Covid-19 cases.
DELHI GOVERNMENT’S RESPONSE
The Delhi government has directed schools to close the specific wing, or the classrooms, wherever needed. Further, the government has said that schools will only be closed in specific cases. On Saturday, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, said that even though the Covid-19 cases are rising in the national capital, there is no need to worry as hospitalisation is low.
He further added that specific instructions have been issued to schools to follow the government’s SOPs if they detect any positive case.
A meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has been called on April 20 to review the situation in the national capital.
