Uttar Pradesh: Classes suspended till April 4 amid rise in Covid cases

With the rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday extended the closure of all schools up to class 8 to April 4. Others are directed to follow the Covid-19 norms strictly.

Earlier, the Yogi government had ordered the closure of schools for students up to Class 8 till March 31. The new instructions are being issued by CM Yogi in his meeting with top officials.

Apart from this, CM Yogi also ordered officials to raise the number of Covid-19 testings in UP.

Notably, Uttar Pradesh recorded 918 new cases in the last 24 hours with 10 deaths due to the deadly virus. Lucknow yet again topped the list with 446 new cases.
