Hollywood’s tinsel town is buzzing with reports of Angelina selling a rare painting that was gifted to her by ex-husband Brad Pitt. According to a latest report in Page Six, the rare painting was done by Winston Churchill and was brought as a gift by Brad for Angelina back in 2011. At the time, the painting cost the actor $2.95 million. However, Angelina auctioned it off for a whopping $11.5 million on Monday.

As per the report, the painting is a 1943 painting of the ‘Tower of the Koutoubia Mosque’ and was auctioned to a mystery bidder from Belgian at Christie’s ‘Modern British Art Evening Sale’ auction in London. Quoting sources, the report revealed that Brad Pitt was first interested and inspired by Churchill’s work when he was shooting for Quentin Tarantino’s World War II drama ‘Inglourious Basterds’.

The actor had purchased the painting from a New Orleans antique dealer named M.S. Rau. The report further revealed that the painting was first given by Churchill to former US President Franklin D Roosevelt. It was then juggled between many hands and  hidden away for almost half a century, before being bought by Hollywood’s once most loved and famous couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

On the personal front, Brad and Angelina’s divorce battle has been dragging for years since the couple parted ways in 2016.
