Migrant laborers returning from their hometown and getting employment

Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, crores of migrant workers became unemployed and had returned to their states. But now these workers are making a comeback and they are also getting employment.

This information was given by Labor and Employment Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar in the Rajya Sabha during Question Hour. He said, ‘According to the information received, around 1 crore workers who used to work in other states went back to their home state during the lockdown. But now most of them have returned to their states again for their work and they are getting jobs also.’

The SP Minister Ram Gopal Yadav had made a supplementary question about the migrant laborers to which the Labor Minister gave this information while replying.

SP leaders wanted to know how many workers lost their jobs in the unorganized sector due to the closure of factories during the Coronavirus epidemic. There are 100 million workers in the organized sector and 40 crores in the unorganized sector. Gangwar told that the government is engaged in efforts and has started many such programs in which people can get work.
