Confident English side beat India in Chennai

On the back of captain Joe Root double-century and spinners Jack Leach and Dom Bess, team England has won the first test match in Chennai by a margin of 227  runs  and gone up 1-0 in four match test series.

Requiring 381 runs to win  on Day-5 of the match, India did not had a great start with Jack Leach taking  the wicket of Cheteshwar Pujara caught by Stokes at slip. Shubman Gill did play his shots to brought up his third fifty in test match, but got bowled to a gem of delivery by English legend pacer James Anderson. The ace pacer did not let settle Rahane and took his wicket in the same over.

Apart from captain Virat Kohli scoring 72 runs off 104 balls, rest of the batting order did not lasted on the pitch for more than an hour with team India only able to score 192 runs in the fourth innings.

The second Test Match is scheduled to start from February 13 at the same venue. Wounded team India will look to settle the score with England and also try to get one place close to booking their ticket at the finals of ICC Test Championship.
