Meanwhile, American pop singer Rihanna tweeted about the ongoing farmers’ protest in India, several other prominent international celebrities and activists have also extended their support to the farmer-led movement against the Centre’s contentious new farm laws.

Rihanna has extended her support to the protesting farmers in the outskirts of Delhi and condemned the internet shutdown to stop the agitation. She has shared a report related to the farmer movement on her Twitter handle. It mentions the shutdown of internet service due to farmers’ confrontation with the police. With this report, she wrote, ‘Why are we not talking about this?’

Significantly, Rihanna is not the first celebrity to support farmers’ protests. Earlier, a number of celebrities including Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Diljit Dosanjh, Swara Bhaskar have supported the farmers who are protesting against the agricultural laws of the Center. YouTuber Lilly Singh has also tweeted in support of Rihanna.

In the meantime, Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg also took to Twitter to share a news story about the internet shutdowns in Delhi. “We stand in solidarity with the #FarmersProtest in India,” the teen activist tweeted. American actress Amanda Cerni, US Vice President Kamla Harris’ niece also support the protesting farmers.
