PM Modi lays foundation stone of Manipur Water Supply Project, Funds given under the Water Life Mission

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation for the Manipur Water Supply Project through video conferencing.

On this occasion, PM Modi said – We have to keep fighting vigorously against Corona, to win.

Along with this, the works of development have to be taken forward with full force.

The Central Government has given funds for this project under the Jal Jeevan Mission. 3,054.58 crore is estimated to be spent on this project.

Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, his cabinet ministers, MPs and MLAs also participated in the foundation laying program.

Inaugurating the project, Modi said in a speech, “Eastern and North-Eastern India are facing dual challenges. Heavy rains are causing a lot of damage. Many people have died. Many have to leave the house. Condolences to all the families. The whole country stands with you. The Government of India is continuously trying to meet the needs with all the State Governments. ”

The Prime Minister said, “The state government is working day and night to control the corona infection in Manipur. The state government took every necessary step, including bringing people back in lockdown. This is the way to help the poor in this time of crisis. Today is a big day for lakhs of colleagues of Manipur including Imphal, especially for sisters. The festival of Rakhi is about to come, before that the sisters of Manipur will start this very big gift. “
