The solar eclipse is on 21 June. On this day the temples will remain closed till noon. The eclipse starting at around 10:30 am will last for more than 3 hours.
The sutak will take place 12 hours before that i.e. 10 pm on Saturday night. When there is a sutak, there is no worship.
This first solar eclipse of the year to take place on 21 June will take place in Mrigashira Nakshatra. On the day of solar eclipse, 6 planets will be Saturn, Guru, Venus, Mercury, Vakri. Rahu, Ketu live. Solar eclipse has negative effects for 30 days.
This eclipse is said to be auspicious for Aries, Leo, Virgo and Capricorn and eclipse will be painful for other zodiac signs.
During the eclipse one should chant the mantras of Lord Shiva and Vishnu along with chanting of Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. Do not touch the idols of the Gods and Goddesses during the Sutak period, pregnant women should avoid cutting, sewing since the Sutak period.
