Encounter with militants in Kulgam of Jammu and Kashmir; security forces killed two ISJK militants

In an encounter in Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir, security personnel killed two militants of ISJK (Islamic State of Jammu and Kashmir), an Islamic State-inspired terrorist organization. 

The militants have been identified as Adil Ahmed Wani Urbha Abu Ibrahim and Shahhin Bashir Thoker. Sources said that both the terrorists were linked to ISJK. Both the terrorists were from Shopian district of Kashmir. Vani was active from 12 September 2017, while Thokare joined the terrorist organization on 15 August last year. Sources said that Thake had joined ISJK except Lashkar-e-Taiba. 

According to official sources, the National Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police started the operation in the morning on the basis of intelligence information about the presence of militants in Khur Hajipora village of the district. Meanwhile, the militants opened fire on the security forces. Security forces also opened fire in retaliation. Two militants were killed in this encounter between the two sides. 

He said that additional security forces have been deployed in the vicinity to prevent any protests. Meanwhile, many villagers who came down the streets, especially the youth, clashed with the security forces at that time. The security forces stopped him from proceeding towards the site of the encounter.
