Writer Reshu Nath has penned a smart and entertaining web series. Each episode has interesting plot twists. The courtroom sequences, where a rape case is being debated, is devoid of theatrics.
With 30-minute episodes, it is an easy binge-watch which doesn’t require you to pay too much attention. For instance, it would have been interesting to watch the research sessions, with lawyers and clerks sifting through documents until they find just the right evidence to make their argument stronger.
Neha Sharma as Niharika is a revelation. Piyush Mishra playing Jaitley excels as a cold, self-assured and condescending man. Illegal is a watchable web series, just don’t go in with the expectations of a Suits or Boston Legal.
