Lucknow: The 303 bore rifles will no more be used by policemen during duty after its last display at the Republic Day parade on January 26. Now the cops will be armed with Insas rifle during duty.
ADG (Logistics)has issued an order to this effect to all district police chiefs of UP on the direction of DGP OP Singh.
The UP Police had decided to phase out the .303 rifles a few weeks back. It was decided to give these rifles a farewell after its display at the Republic Day parade on January 26.
On January 26, the .303 bore rifles will be on display for the last time. The 303 bore rifles have been used by cops during duty for a long time.
