Race-Ready Lamborghini Urus ST-X Unveiled

Lamborghini has finally revealed the final race-ready version of the Urus ST-X concept that was showcased last year. Set to make its racing debut next year, the Italian marque says that the new Lamborghini Urus ST-X will be the first Super SUV in the world of racing.

The first race is scheduled during the 2020 World Finals in Misano Adriatico. Lamborghini said the winners of the four classes of the 2020 Super Trofeo will get to challenge a handful of professional racing drivers in a race comprised of only Urus ST-X SUVs. It will be held on a “special track,” Lamborghini said, suggesting that it might be something akin to a rallycross race where dirt sections and jumps are common.

Techanically, the Urus ST-X is powered by the existing 4.0-litre V8 engine from the existing model that generates 650bhp of power and massive 850Nm of peak torque. There are reports that the company might retune the V8 performance figures to deliver a higher power output. As seen in images, the race-spec model gets green (Verde Mantis) from the Lamborghini Squadra Corse along with the motorsport livery. The SUV also features sporty red detailing on the bumper and rides on large 21-inch aluminium wheels.
