New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki has launched the S-Presso mini SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 3.69 lakh, with the top variant priced at Rs 4.91 lakh. To be sold through the carmaker’s Arena dealerships, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be available in six colour options — Superior White, Solid Fire Red, Metallic Granite Grey, Metallic Silky Silver, Solid Sizzle Orange and Pearl Starry Blue.

The all-new Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has been designed to target the young buyers. With the rising demand of the SUVs in India, most of the market is inclined towards the SUV design cars. This is Maruti Suzuki’s second such SUV-inspired car in the Indian market. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki launched the Ignis, which also gets a crossover design but it is sold through the Nexa dealership network, which has a limited reach in the Indian market when compared to the Maruti Suzuki Arena dealership network. The S-Presso looks quite funky and the design is heavily inspired by the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is the most-affordable car based on the 5th generation HEARTECT platform. Also, this the first car that is powered by the BS6 compliant 1.0-litre petrol engine that powers the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 in the Indian market. The engine generates a maximum power of 67 Bhp and peak power and 90 Nm of peak torque. It gets both manual and AMT automatic transmission. With both the transmission types, it returns a high fuel efficiency of 21.7 km/l according to the ARAI certificate.

The company also states that the name ‘S-Presso’ is inspired by the Espresso coffee and similarly, the car too will be standing out for its strong, robust and bold characteristics
