Tight schedule restricts Ayushmann to have his “ME” time

New Delhi: Ayushmann Khurrana who bagged the Best Actor National Award for win for AndhaDhund had an interview with IANS where he shared his experience of how he reacted when it was announced that he has been given Best Actor award with URI hero Vicky Kaushal in the National Film Festival 2019.

He revealed he was busy shooting for an advert when his phone began buzzing with congratulatory messages. “I was shooting for an ad-film and there were people around me. So, it wasn’t exactly a ‘me moment’ for me. I was busy with the shot when suddenly congratulatory messages started pouring in on my phone. I was so shocked to learn that all this has happened – it was all so surreal,” he said.

He told in the interview that he always does films which have credibility. So he was quite looking forward to the award but he was not so sure about it. In the meantime when he was shooting for the advertisement, coincidentally the cinematographer happened to be that of movie ‘URI’ which also bagged the award for best film and best direction. They all cheered up and gave a high five to each other.

The company celebrated the achievement of the start Ayushmann with a special arrangement and party. The 34 year told that he was very overwhelmed by all the wishes and the team which gave him so much encouragement. When later he talked to his parents he said “My father was almost choking on the phone when we spoke, after hearing the news. He was so overwhelmed that he could not talk properly. I feel it was even more overwhelming for him than me. Tahira (his wife) was also emotional.”
