Over Twenty Eight Thousand Security personnel are deployed in Kashmir

Srinagar: Over 280 companies of security forces are deployed in Kashmir. The forces are deployed in the vulnerable spots where there are more chances of attacks according to the sources.

The security forces consist of mostly CRPF personnel in the Kashmir Valley. There is no reason still given for the sudden deployment of these forces but it is suspected that the terrorist groups are planning to attack the guards and police of Kashmir.

All major entries and exists of the city have been taken over by the Central Armed Paramilitary forces (CAPF’s) with a token presence of local police. Officials said that the security has been withdrawn from the isolated shrines because of the intelligence report that suggest that foreign terrorists are planning to target the local police and guards.

Some ‘langars’ of Amarnath Yatra have also been closed. Summer Vacations of the children in the local schools has been pre-poned starting from Thursday 2nd August 2019. Schools will remain closed for 10 days starting this Thursday.

Local residents have started panic-buying essentials as they are linking the deployment of forces to apprehension to deterioration in law and order situation.

The centre had earlier deployed 10,000 central forces and army personnel to Kashmir in order to strengthen the counter insurgency operations and law and order duties.
