Chrome 76 is out, makes it easier to get through paywalls

The new Chrome 76 you will be able to over the paywalls by choosing into the incognito mode. A few weeks ago, it was reported that Chrome 76 would make it harder to run Flash. As well as potentially make it much easier to bypass article paywalls. That update is now available.

People and software developers are happy to this update as this is how they felt incognito mode should be. Many people have tweeted how the new Google Chrome 76 helps in keeping the information private about the customers visiting a site and the views.

Publishers previously responded by simply making articles unavailable altogether if they detect you’re in incognito mode. They did this by checking if a feature called the File System API was disabled in your browser to determine your browsing mode (standard or incognito).

Chrome 76 prevents the File System API status from being detectable. And indeed, he people were able to get through the pay walls of each of the pages tested. However you need to pay for subscriptions. But if you really need to read that article, now you know what to do at least until publishers find another loophole.

As for Flash, Chrome 76 disables the plug in by default, but you can still activate it by going to chrome://settings/content/flash. That would prevent most people from using Flash, while still making it accessible for those who actually need it.
