Kashmir valley comes under complete shutdown after killing of Zakir Musa

Srinagar: After Indian security forces killed Ansar Ghazwat ul Hind chief Zakir Musa during encounter in Kashmir’s Pulwama district on past Thursday, the district administration has decided to close school and collages in valley.

These restrictions were imposed under Section 144 CrPc in two tehsils of Bhadarwah and Bhalla in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhadarwah of Doda district.

An official of deputy commissioners said these steps were taken as precautionary measure and decided to allow class work up to Class 10 only.

The Kashmir University (KU) has decided to postpone its examinations, while Islamic University of Science and Technology (SKUAST) have closed down the campus for the day.

 

After Zakir Musa encounter Kashmir valley back in hands of shutdown:

 

Meanwhile for precautionary measure mobile Internet services remained suspended for ninth day in the additional district.

Connectivity of trains on the Baramulla-Banihal line remained off the tracks due to curfew which is continued to remain imposed in parts of the Kashmir valley.

According to Indian Security officials said, “Most of the shops, fuel stations and other business establishments remained shut in the valley due to a strike called by hardliner Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani against the killing of Musa and a civilian Zahoor Ahmad, a resident of Naira Pulwama-who was killed by unidentified gunmen on Thursday.”

Security forces have been deployed in strength in all parts of the valley to avoid any incident. With few private cars and auto-rickshaws public transport was off the roads.
