Another milestone added in Indian Navy to tackle wars with test of MRSAM

New Delhi: The Indian Navy on Friday achieved a successful milestone to enhance its Anti Air Warfare Capability with the maiden cooperative engagement and test-fire the Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) on the western seaboard by Indian naval ships INS Kochi and INS Chennai.

The test firing of missile was carried out in collaboration by the Indian Navy, Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Israel Aerospace Industries.

The MRSAM has been manufactured by Bharat Dynamics Limited India. DRDO Hyderabad; a Lab jointly developed this missile in cooperation with Israel Aerospace Industries.

 

Indian Navy adds new milestone by testing MRSAM to tackle future wars:

 

According to Indian Navy, “firing was undertaken on the Western Seaboard by Indian Naval Ships Kochi and Chennai wherein missiles of both ships were controlled by one ship to intercept different aerial targets at extended ranges.”

Statement from Defence Ministry added, “These surface to air missiles are fitted onboard the Kolkata class destroyers and would also be fitted on all future major warships of the Indian Navy.”

The successful conduct of the missile test will now enhance battle especially during war against the Indian Navy.
