Washington: The United States (US) President Donald Trump while giving policy speech on Thursday said that he is all set to announce a new manifesto to revise country’s immigration policy.
In that new policy he would give preference to foreigners based on merit rather than existing system that gives preference to family ties, a move that could end struggling for Green Card wait especially for hundreds and thousands of Indian professionals.
Innovation of Trump’s son–in-law, Jarred Kushner, this new plan basically to gain border security to upgrade system of Green card or legal permanent residency for people with merit, higher degrees and professional qualification and can easily get access to immigration system.
The Trump administration will be changing this plan which is scheduled at the Rose Garden of the White House.
As of now, about 66 per cent of Green Cards are given to those with family ties and only 12 per cent are based on skills.
Basically plan is slightly to face struggle especially on the issue of immigration reform because of divided Congress.

Both Trump and Kushner are believed to have briefed Republican lawmakers and if succeeds in convincing them to make an election issue in 2020.
The opposition Democrats, led by Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, will be against such legislative success to the president.
The official requested that “It is going to be a very detailed piece of legislation and it can be what they want it to be. If they do not want to engage, then it will be part of the election. If they want to engage, then it could be part of a negotiation. That is going to be up to them.”
This move will benefit massive numbers of Indian professionals on H-1B visa whose current Green Card wait on an average of more than a decade.
The new policy issue for more than half of green cards to those based on employment or skills, unlikely to propose changes in existing number 1.1 million of green cards issued each year.
They have issued 40 million green cards since 1970 this means permanent residency for many people, however he added that they will not allow if people abuse their generosity and break law, defy rules, violate or enter illegally in our country.
According to senior administration official applicants would receive points for age, English proficiency and offers employment at a certain wage threshold in order to protect low-wage American workers and would favour those immigrants who are exceptional students, with extraordinary talent and people who work in professional and specialized vocations system which make mirrors point-based system of countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
