Mumbai: America based motorcycle manufacturer company, Cleveland CycleWerks, today announced the launch of its first dealership in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. Spread over 1000 sq. feet, Cleveland CycleWerks is located at Mahavir Arcade, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The brand currently sells its products worldwide and has its distribution in 23 countries.
The state-of-the-art dealership includes display space, service center along with the entire range of Cleveland CycleWerks. From an exclusive lounge inside the showroom to a motorcycle delivery arena, the dealership caters to the rebellious spirit of motorcycle enthusiasts, according to Cleveland CycleWerks.
The dealership will offer the retro-inspired motorcycles Ace Deluxe and Misfit, the two models from the existing range of Cleveland CycleWerks motorcycles, with various design options for the Indian consumers.
The Ace Deluxe will be the most affordable motorcycle in their portfolio and will be priced at Rs 2.23 lakh. The Misfit is the second motorcycle in the range and will be priced at Rs 2.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
The company is looking to have at least one dealership in one city and has already finalized dealers in 10 major cities, most of which is in South India. Cleveland has also planned to put their motorcycles online but has not divulged any details about them.
America’s Cleveland CycleWerks launches first exclusive lounge in India:
The Cleveland motorcycles will be bringing in the motorcycles as Completely Knocked Down units (CKD) via China and will be locally assembled in Pune. Because of the CKD format, the company will be able to achieve only 5-6 per cent of localization. However, the brand is slated to bring in the more localization of around 30-40 per cent over the next few years, which will bring down the price of the motorcycles.
Among other motorcycles in the range, the company will be launching the Ace Scrambler and the Ace Cafe next year because the motorcycles are currently undergoing ARAI certification. Cleveland CycleWerks also plans to enter the 125cc market to the 450cc market. But the launch of these will depend on the feedback of the already launched motorcycles on the market.
The Cleveland Ace Deluxe will be a retro-styled motorcycle and will be powered by a 229cc single cylinder engine. The air-cooled engine will be capable of churning out 15.4bhp and 16Nm of peak torque. The powertrain is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also features a square-section single-downtube frame which has been suspended on USD forks and dual shocks.
The motorcycles will, however, miss out on the ABS feature. Cleveland states the motorcycles from their range were already certified before the new ABS mandate came into being in April 2018. The Ace Deluxe gets MRF tires and runs on aluminum wired rims.
Once fully launched, the motorcycles will go head-on with the likes of the KTM Duke 250, Apache RTR 200, and the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Classic 500.
