Lucknow: On the occasion of 19th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Amar Jawan Jyoti will be lit up on 25th July at Shaheed Chowk in Motijheel area of Kanpur. This Amar Jawan Jyoti is first of its kind as it will light up for 24 hours.
The flame will be lit by eco-friendly Piped Natural Gas PNG supplied by Central UP gas limited that will pay homage to Kargil-Martyrs.
Former mayor Ravinder Patni inaugurated the park at Ashok Nagar in Mothijheel as Amar Jawan Chowk.
Kargil Vijay Diwas: Amar Jawan Jyoti to be lit in Kanpur for 24 hours:
There was a huge conflict regarding the name of the park, after which Ravinder Patni decided to name it in the memory of Kargil Martyrs.
The Amar Jawan Jyoti is being constructed to commemorate the martyred soldiers of Kanpur and Kanpur dehat who died during war.
The Amar Jawan Jyoti was constructed after taking permission from Armed Forces and is based on the design passed by the Brigadier himself.
Amar Jawan is scripted on cenotaph and above it has a loading riffle which stands on its barrel with a helmet of a soldier over the top. The names of martyrs have been inscribed on it.
