Southwest monsoon covers entire Himachal

Shimla, June 28 (IANS) The southwest monsoon advanced over almost the entire Himachal Pradesh on Thursday and there are chances of more showers in next four days, the weather bureau here said.

“The monsoon, which hit some parts of the state on Wednesday, has further advanced. It has covered almost the entire state now,” an official said.

The rainfall occurred in most parts of the state with the plummeting of the maximum temperature by nine to 10 degrees, he said, adding the rainfall activity would continue across the state in the next four days.

Una town in the state recorded the maximum rainfall of 91 mm, while the state capital had 24.4 mm rains.

The state received 67.3 mm rain from June 1 to June 27, which is 12 per cent less than normal precipitation during this period.
