These Bollywood movies show the existence of casting couch in industry

For past few years, casting couch has been a hot topic for discussion in Bollywood. Someone performed topless on the road against casting couch, so someone raised their voice on Twitter. After the statement of choreographer Saroj Khan, Congress leader Renuka Chowdhary also expressed his opinion on this. Even before this, successful actress like Kangana Ranaut has also raised this issue. Instead of getting accused of casting couch, Bollywood has made many movies on this issue. Today we are going to tell you about movies which were made on Casting Couch.

Fashion

Madhur Bhandarkar tried to show the casting couch very closely in the modeling world by his movie ‘Fashion’. This was released in 2008 which brought the black truth of the modeling world. Priyanka Chopra was seen in the lead role in the film, while Kangana Ranaut and Mugdha Godse were seen playing side roles. Critics praised its screenplay, cinematography, music, direction and performances. This movie was superhit at the box office.

Heroine (2012)

Just like his film ‘Fashion’, Madhur Bhandarkar made another masterpiece film ‘Heroine’ which showed that how girls in the bollywood industry are dying to become an actress and going beyond the limits to maintain the position. Heroine was based on existence of casting couch in Bollywood. It clearly showed how actresses have to compromise to get lead roles in big budget movies.

Corporate (2006)

Bipasha Basu played the main character in the film Corporate. This film was released in 2006 which showed that how people use each other in the corporate world. This movie clarified that how women need to compromise if they want a reputate position in the society.

Inkar (2013)

The issue of sexual abuse was raised in Arjun Rampal and Chitrangada Singh’s ‘Inkar’.  Sudhir Mishra had chosen a good subject for the film. This movie focused on the topic of sexual exploitation. This movie put light on the existence of casting couch in the corporate world.

Calendar Girls (2015)

Madhubar Bhandarkar, who directed films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion, Heroine, also tried to show Casting Couch in the film ‘Calendar Girls’. The movie ‘Calendar Girls’ is the story of five such models that belonged to the different cities and met each other in the bikini talent hunt.  This movie showcased that how small town girls are an easy way to target and how they are exploited on the name of talent hunt contests.
