Supreme Court to resume hearing of disputed Babri Masjid-Ram Mandir case from today:

The main issue of the case is that according to Hindus, the land on which Babri Mosque was built is ‘Ram-Janambhoomi’(birthplace of Hindus godhead Lord Rama). Babri Mosque is one of the largest mosque of Uttar Pradesh. It was built by Mir Baqi who was a Mughal commander during the reign of first Mughal emperor Babur.

Both the Muslims and Hindu communities worshiped their gods inside and outisde the mosque respectively. In 1885, a petition was filled by Nirmokhi Akhara asking for permission to allow them to pray inside the mosque where their (hindus) idols were installed.
