Sridevi and Jhanvi Kapoor to share screen space in Mr India 2?

Mumbai : Though filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has totally disowned any plans on making a sequel to 1987 hit film Mr India, it is learned from sources that producer Boney Kapoor intends to go ahead with a new director.

Apparently, Ravi Udyawar, who directed Sridevi in Mom earlier this year, will helm Mr India 2. Interestingly there is a strong buzz surrounding the casting of this much-awaited film. It is believed that Sridevi and her daughter Jhanvi will be sharing the screen space in part two of the film.

“There are two pairs of leads in Mr India 2. While Anil Kapoor and Sridevi will reprise the roles that they played in the first film, there will be a new pair. Jhanvi is likely to play the young female lead,” mentions the source.

It will be interesting to see if Jhanvi makes her debut opposite her mother and braves the comparisons that are bound to follow.

Who can forget Sridevi turning up the heat in her blue saree or “Mogambo khush hua”?

Jhanvi Kapoor will be sharing space with her mother, Sridevi, in the Mr India sequel. “There are two pairs of leads in Mr India 2. While Anil Kapoor and Sridevi will reprise the roles that they played in the first film, there will be a new pair. Jhanvi is likely to play the young female lead,” a source told the publication.

It is being said that Ravi Udyawar, who made his directorial debut with Sridevi’s last release, Mom, will helm Mr India 2.

Meanwhile, Sridevi is apparently miffed for delaying Jhanvi’s debut film. The 20-year-old will reportedly be paired opposite Ishaan Khatter in the Hindi remake of Sairat, which will be produced by Karan Johar. However, there has been no official announcement yet, and Sridevi is running out of patience.
