‘Diwali will be mummy ke haath ka khana: Richa Chadha

Mumbai : Actor Richa Chadha will be celebrating Diwali with her parents and brother in Mumbai today. “We, the four of us, are going to be together on Diwali after a very long time this time,” says Richa, while on her recent visit to Lucknow.

“Last year, I had got just half a day off from work on Diwali so I didn’t go to Delhi. Because tum Diwali ke din jao and aadhe din you keep sleeping because ghar aa ke you’re relaxed so festival ka toh pata hi nahi chalta hai. So this year, I asked my parents to come to Mumbai instead. Actually, we have a cat in Delhi so it’s usually difficult for my parents to move out. And as a policy we don’t have a full time help at home, so there was no one to look after her. But this time I am busy with my film promotions and ek din ki chhutti mein bhaag-daudte ghar jao toh the travelling and festival becomes more stressful and tiring than fun. Finally, I managed to convince my parents to put the cat in a creche for a few days and celebrate Diwali with me in Mumbai. Also, I have taken a new house and I really wanted them to see it. So, Diwali for me will me mummy ke haath ka khana, sajna and ghar sajaana. My brother is also in Mumbai now and this year all four of us will be together for Diwali hopefully,” adds the ‘Fukrey’ actor with a smile.
As she lights up the candle for the photo shoot Richa can’t help but talk about Diwali celebrations as a kid and how she loves the light of a candle.

Ask her the obvious question, that most in Lucknow at least are are looking for an answer to, of whether she and actor Ali Fazal are actually a couple, and Richa shrugs her shoulders and says, “Yes, Ali and I are a couple. But we don’t see sense in denying it or discussing it, actually. In fact, I actually never really understood the interest in us only. I went to Venice with him and I never realized people would be so interested in it. It was very surprising,” says Richa, adding, “So yeah, we’re quite happy, we’re in a happy space. I will be visiting his parents now that I am here in Lucknow
