Indian army chief declares 2018 to be ‘year of war disabled’

Pune: Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat today exhorted disabled soldiers to continue to learn new skills so that they can “stand on their feet” and “lead a life of respect and financial independence”.

 

 

According to a defence release said, Rawat attended a disabled soldiers rally organised by the Delhi-based War Wounded Foundation at the Armed Forces Medical College and declared 2018 as the “year of war disabled.”

He while praising the courage and sacrifice of war disabled soldiers and assured them of all help and support from the army.

Rawat also highlighted the notification of 7th Pay Commission for the Armed Forces on this occasion.

Nearly 150 war disabled personnel, some in wheelchairs, participated in the rally.
