Srinagar: In yet another attempt to infiltration bid to enter into soil of Indian territory, some militants attack police vehicle in Shopian district of Kashmir valley today.

Suspected militants attacked a police vehicle in south Kashmir’s Shopian district early Thursday however no one was injured in the attack.

 

 

According to local police information, no one was injured in the incident.

Police sources said that militants opened fire on a Rakshak vehicle from an orchard near Harmain, Hajipora area of the district.

A police said, militants opened fire on the police vehicle escorting the bullet proof car of Shopian MLA, Mohammad Yousuf, which was being brought from Anantnag to Shopian at 9.30 AM at Harmain.

He said a police vehicle and the MLA’s car suffered some damage while security forces returned the fire.

They said that policemen also retaliated and no one was injured in the incident.

Local sources said that soon after the firing incident army and SOG reached the area.
