Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Board exams for class 10th and 12th standards started today morning with more than 60 lakh students to appear in their Board examination.

According to education official said, the board exams were deferred due to the state assembly elections, official added while informing that at 7.30 a.m., the class 10th exam started with the Hindi paper while that of class 12th started with Military Science.

Secretary of the Board, Shail Yadav informed that 11,413 centre have been made across the state for conducting the exams.

About 34 lakh students are appearing for the class 10 exams and 26.56 lakh students for class 12th.

As per the UPMSP or Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, a total of 34,04,571 students are registered for the UP Board Class X Exams this year.

Another 26,24,681 students are registered from the state for the Class XII Board Examinations which start today after delay due to the UP Assembly Elections.

As per reports from various sources and Boards’ own admission, there are many administrative concerns. The biggest remains the lack of invigilators in the capital city as well as ensuring proper invigilation in identified in sensitive and super sensitive zones.

Another concern is the use of Attendance App as officials fail to get the things in order for the exams today.

With 60 lakh students, UP Board continues to be a mammoth among the lesser boards. While CBSE is the widest board covering the entire country, the sheer volume of students appearing in the UP Board makes it one of the largest.

With numbers come the concerns of managing the examination exercise. This year, with the UP Assembly Elections, the UP Boards were already delayed by over 16 days.

The woes of the administrative authority of UPMSP do not end, however. Reports suggest that the change in the government has left officials in Lucknow confused about the Attendance App which was launched last year.

They have no information on how to use of the app launched by Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) in the exams beginning on today.
