Basically, in Indian Railways there were nine types of different horn blowing styles which have certain type of message and meaning behind them. So here we go to reveal curtains from mystery.
* A Short Horn: This means that the train has arrived in the yard and it’s time to clean it.
* Two Short Horns: This means that train is ready to move.
* Three Short Horns: This means that loco pilot has lost control over engine.

* Four short Horns: This means that there is some technical fault in train and it cannot move forward.
* Two Short and One Long Horns: This kind of horn use to blow in two situations, either someone has pulled the chain of train or guard has put applied vacuum pressure brake.
* Continues blowing long horn of Train: If the train is constantly blowing the horn, it means that it will not stop at the platform.
* Two-stroke horn: This horn is played when close to a Railway crossing.
* Two long and one small horn: This type of horn is played when the train changes its track.
* Six time’s small horn: This horn is played when the loco pilot got sense of any kind of danger.
