Akshay Kumar starrer  Housefull 4  earns well on opening day

Mumbai: On the festival of Diwali, this year three films released including Made In China, Saand Ki Aankh and Housefull 4.

Akshay Kumar’s high-budget Diwali release, Housefull 4, took a healthy start at the box office, suggests an early estimate by a box-office portal. The reincarnation comedy, as it is being called by its makers, collected an estimated Rs 19 crore on its Day 1. The report says that while the film was looking at crossing the Rs 20 crore-mark, the business slowed down post 4 pm due to Diwali festivities.

Despite the pre-Diwali period, the report says, Housefull 4 has taken the best start among all the films of the franchise. In fact, it is the second-highest opening for a comedy film after Golmaal Again that had released a day after Diwali two years ago. The Rohit Shetty directorial, headlined by Ajay Devgn, had collected Rs 30.14 crore on its first day.

Akshay’s comic timing is loved by fans and that will surely help the numbers to boost up over the Diwali weekend. However, the reviews by people might also affect the numbers of the film. It will be interesting to see how Housefull 4 fares compared to the other releases of this Friday. Directed by Farhad Samji, Housefull 4 is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
