New Delhi: The Human Resource Development (HRD) minister, Prakash Javedkar recently announced in a press conference that the Net JRF, JEE mains, NEET exams will now be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) from the coming year.
Before, these exams were conducted by CBSE. Adding to this, he said JEE mains and NEET exam will now be held twice a year from 2019. Minister said that the exams will now be more secure, there will be no paper leakage and it will be more friendly, leak proof system. Students will also be given practice sessions online.
NTA will be conducting the exam for the first time. In the year 2017, the union cabinet approved the formation of NTA. National Testing Agency (NTA) will serve as an autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for higher educational institutions.
NEET exam and JEE mains will now be held twice in year from 2019:
As per the approval of Union Cabinet, the NTA will be created as a Society registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act, 1860.
Keeping rural people in mind the exam centres will be set in sub- districts/districts as far as possible and all the exams will be held online only for easy and secure conduction of exam. Students would be given training to take tests online easily.
NTA will be given 25 crore grant for the first entrance exam it is going to conduct, later on it will be financially self-sustained.
NTA would bring high reliability, intelligence and problem-solving abilities of the students. The next exam scheduled that would be conducted by NTA is net-jrf that will held in December.
