New York: The family members of a teenager girl whose gangrape video was streamed live on Facebook have been shifted to a “safe place”.

International online media reported that after the video of the attack was published, the authorities offered relocation services to the victim and her family as they started receiving threats and were being harassed.

In recent past, near about five to six men allegedly gangraped a teenager and streamed the assault live on Facebook. The horrifying part was this that the 40 people who watched the video did not report the matter to the police.

On Monday night, the incident came to the police’s attention, when the girl’s mother approached the head of Chicago Police and registered a “missing” report. She said the girl disappeared on Sunday from the Lawndale neighbourhood.

The mother of the victim also showed the screen shots of the video of the assault to the Chicago Police head.

The victim girl was found and reunited with her mother on Tuesday. Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the girl was found by Ogden District police officers.

The police said the victim was later taken to Comer Children’s Hospital.
